Reading time:

What motivates you to participate in the Building & Living Platform?

I am particularly passionate about the connection between sustainability and affordable housing. As an employee at Schöck Bauteile GmbH, I have worked on how our products and innovations can contribute even more to energy efficiency and sustainable construction. The Building & Living Platform offers the ideal opportunity to bring our expertise into the discussion and work together on solutions for the construction industry of tomorrow. At Schöck, we strive to address ecological and social challenges with our components—from development in science to concrete implementation in the construction industry.

What do you think are the most important topcis to work on?

Reducing regulatory barriers and establishing general technical standards are key to creating sustainable and affordable housing. Modular construction in particular offers great potential that can be fully realised through clear regulations. It is important to consider all common materials - not just individual ones - to promote diverse, innovative, and environmentally friendly construction methods.

Where and how do you think the working group can have the greatest impact?

I am convinced that the greatest impact lies in the close collaboration between science and the construction industry. This networking allows for the development of innovative products and construction methods that not only improve energy efficiency but also pave the way for sustainable building. By exchanging knowledge and experiences, we can jointly shape the future of construction and develop solutions that are both ecologically and economically sustainable. The working group can serve as a platform to maximize this potential.
